This movie is not for everyone -- it has some
special effects, but it is mostly talk and mostly theory. It's a movie where
theology debates science and nobody really
wins the argument. It's the kind of movie where you walk out of it and talk
about it for hours afterwards -- in fact, that's the reason this movie made this
list.
The
cast of characters in this flick is another reason I love it. Jodie Foster is
fantastic, as usual. She really plays the conflict of her character well. Then
there is James Woods, not one of my favorites,
but he fits perfectly in his role. And (since I'm a female), God knows I love
that cute Mathew McConaughey -- but, here's the thing, he's the weakest link in
the cast. I think he's great, but he doesn't
fit his character, he's too young and pretty to be a respected theologian. But
I love this movie so much, that I can forgive that one mistake.
