Cabaret is a brilliant and tragic movie
-- it's desperately sad like many movies from the 1970's. I'm not sure why that
period was filled with such gritty films!
Part
of the tragedy of watching this movie is to look at the fabulous performance of
Liza Minnelli and wonder why she didn't have a great movie career! I suppose
it's because her talent was in performing
on stage and singing her lungs out -- and not every movie is a Cabaret.
